METHOD OF WINDING GLASS FIBER CLOTH

PURPOSE:To automate winding for improving efficiency of operation and safety by prewinding spirally an adhesive tape around a core of a cylindrical pipe or the like and winding further pressedly an end of a glass fiber cloth around the core. CONSTITUTION:When a core 2 having an adhesive tape 3 applied is mounted on a take-up shaft 4 and driven, said shaft 4 and the core 2 are rotated. As the take-up unit is driven a glass fiber cloth 1 has the end pressed lightly against and adhered to the adhesive tape 3 by a press roller 5. The glass fiber cloth 1 having the end adhered to said tape is wound around the core 2 by the rotation of the core 2 and the feed of the glass fiber cloth 1. Also, the press roller 5 moves correspondingly to the wound condition to prevent the glass fiber cloth 1 from overload.
