PURPOSE:To decrease electric resistances of electrode plates and inter-cell connecting conductor and to improve discharge performances by directly connecting electrode plates in adjacent cells with a plurality of connecting conductors. CONSTITUTION:A container 1 is formed by injection molding of thermoplastic resin. Current collectors 6, 7 and connecting conductors 8, 8', 8'' made of lead alloy are fixed to the container 1 when it is formed by injection molding. The container is divided into two by the connecting conductors 8, 8', 8'' which pass through a partition 2 in airtightness. Positive or negative active material is filled in the container 1 and it is combined with the other divided container filled with the active material, and they are bonded by heat bonding or ultrasonic-wave bonding. A separator is placed between the electrode plates in these two-divided containers. The bonding part of these containers locates on the side of the plates, and the surfaces of the plates are compressed each other placing the separator in-between when bonding is made. |
