PURPOSE:To prevent the shock caused at the time of transition to alcohol by properly compensating the unnecessarily increased portion of fuel discharge by the reduction of reformed gas discharge. CONSTITUTION:Normally, a gas/fuel ratio (a weight ratio of discharge between supplied reformed gas and alcohol) is increased to use the reformed gas mainly and promote the thermal efficiency of an engine 20. But, when an alcohol injector 37 is used, the supply of alcohol is started step by step. That is, since the alcohol injector 37 is planned to be used within a range of an almost linear relation of its fuel control characteristic, a fixed amount of fuel is supplied as possible at the time of transition. This construction permits to reduce the gas/ fuel ratio by this unnecessarily increased portion caused by the supply of alcohol for reducing the supply amount of the reformed gas temporarily, and change the whole fuel discharge smoothly. |
