PURPOSE:To make it possible to give easily a necessary slip angle and a camber angle, by a constitution wherein automatic self-aligning bearings at both ends of a tire shaft are supported on a carriage through the intermediary of a mechanism for movement in the horizontal and vertical directions perpendicular to the axial line of the tire shaft. CONSTITUTION:A load wheel 1 serving as a substitute road surface is supported by a shaft 2. A cylinder 11 moves a carriage 9 forward and backward, and the rod side of the cylinder 11 is connected to an arm 10 through the intermediary of a load cell 30 detecting a load given to a tire. Outer wheels of automatic self-aligning bearings 25 provided at both ends of a tire shaft 24 are mounted removably on bearing seats 17 and 20, respectively. The tire 26 supported rotatably by the two automatic self-aligning bearings 25 of the tire shaft 24 and the two bearing seats 17 and 20 are pressed on and supported by the load wheel 1 by the carriage 9 proceeding toward the load wheel 1, and it is rotated thereby to be subjected to a running test. |
