A hydraulic brake (26, 27, 28, 29, 30) is located in the stop piece (11b) for slowing the motion of this piece under the action of the main spring (13b). When, after having actuated the trigger, it is released sharply, the spring (13b) presses the base (24) to make it move to the left, the pressure drops in the left-hand chamber, the plate (29) then comes to bear against the passage (26), blocking it except for a small hole (30), then acting as a hydraulic brake slowing the motion of the body (11b), thus avoiding impact of the rod (7c) against the measurement keys (15b). <IMAGE>
