摘要 PURPOSE:To optimize a guard time by varying a guard time range in accordance with the type of the previous gear change in a device in which said guard time range which is an allowable time range for controlling an engine torque is provided at the time of the gear change of an automatic transmission. CONSTITUTION:During the operation of an engine, it is judged whether a condition of carrying out gear change at this point of time is satisfied or not by an ETC computer 50 from the output signals of a vehicle speed sensor 110, a crank angle sensor 108, and a throttle sensor 102. When judged yes, a postponting time T1 from a change gear action starting time to the start of detecting an inertia phase, the upper limit value T2 of time for carrying out engine torque control, and a time T3 until the reengagement of a lock-up clutch 74 is permitted, are calculated. In this case, the type of the previous gear change is read out and a guard time (T1, T2) is changed in accordance with the type. After starting control, when the guard time elapsed, the control of engine torque is completed.
