A capacitor having a wound pair of foil-like, metallised electrodes (10, 12) and having a pair of dielectric spacers (14, 16) which are arranged between the electrodes and separate the latter, has a sheet-like paper substrate (22) for one of the electrodes, layer-like metal coatings (24, 26) being deposited on both sides of the sheet-like paper substrate (22) to form one electrode. In addition, the capacitor has a foil-like polymer substrate (28) for the other electrode, a layer-like metal coating (12) being deposited on the foil-like polymer substrate to form the other electrode. <IMAGE>
