In a device for converting and storing solar radiation energy in the form of electrical energy, having a photovoltaic generator and an electrochemical energy transducer, in order to improve the matching of the generator to the transducer in different operating conditions it is proposed that a switching mechanism be connected in series with the photovoltaic generator and the electrochemical energy transducer, which switching mechanism supplies a portion of the electrical energy produced by the photovoltaic generator to an electrochemical additional store when the temperature of the photovoltaic generator is below a first value, and which supplies electrical energy from the additional store to the electrochemical energy transducer when the temperature of the photovoltaic generator is above a second value.
