PURPOSE:To prevent an accident occuring due to an unusual load which is produced in a body of a crusher by detecting a shift of a coupling which connects the body to a speed change gear. CONSTITUTION:A rotary member of a crusher 1 is operated on a driving power from a prime mover via a large gear 7, an output shaft 8 and a coupling 5, on account of which a variable thrust load is applied on a thrust bearing 11 from the rotary part 2a of the crusher body 1 via the output shaft 8. The variable thrust load is within an allowable range, however, if a solid substance may be subjected to crushing with difficulty, the resulting excessive force of the thrust load is exerted on the bearing so that the couplings 4 and 5 are forced to slide in the direction at right angles to the bearing. A cover 13 is also moved in the same direction, thereby disconnecting a projecting piece 15 from a labyrinth 12. |
