PURPOSE:To let both front and rear cylinders carry out their good cooling performance, by extending rearward a return pipe for cooling water from the front cylinder part and connecting this return pipe to another cooling water return pipe from the rear cylinder, in case of a V-type water-cooling engine for motorcycle use. CONSTITUTION:When this method is applied to a V-type four-cylinder water- cooled engine which sets up cylinders 4 and 5 longitudinally along a sense of running, the nose of a cooling water inlet pipe 10 is attached to the trough part of an engine 6 and cooling water is distributed to each of cylinders 4a, 4b, 5a and 5b through flow dividing parts 12 and 12 being formed on said nose. Then, a cooling water return pipe 17 connected to a discharge port 13 of the cylinder 4a is extended as far as a spot adjacent to the cylinder 4b and joined to a return pipe 18 connected to a discharge port 14 of the cylinder 4b and that a return pipe 19 stretching to the extent of the cylinder 5 is connected to the nose of the return pipe 17. In addition, a return pipe 21 of the cylinder 5b is as well joined to the said return pipe 19 and then a return pipe 20 of the cylinder 5a is rendered confluent with the return pipe 19 via a large diametral return pipe 22. |
