A crane expediently includes a pillar-like body 1, one crane arm 3 articulated to the body at the first point and a connection part 4 which is connected on the one hand to the crane arm at one second connection point 5 distanced from the first point, and on the other hand to the body 1 in the third connection point 6 which is separated height-wise from the first connection point where the crane arm 3 can be moved height-wise by means of increasing or decreasing the length of at least one of the legs of the triangle that together forms at least part of the body, the crane arm and the connection part. To the crane arm 3, is connected at least one connecting element 15, 16, which in an active, pulled state has a limited maximum length and which at its end, pointing from the crane, is anchored at the point 15", 16", which is distanced in the lateral or horizontal direction from the point for the crane arm's connection to the body where the limiting element 15, 16 is arranged, while the crane arm 3 is turning upwards, to automatically and forcibly apply upon the crane arm a sideways motion as soon as the element as a consequence of said turning of the crane arm has reached its maximum length and thus ensures that one load object lifted by the crane arm is not only lifted up but also moved sideways, e.g. over a load carrier 20.
