PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent a faucet from being frozen, by providing a bypass passage in the faucet and by providing an automatic bypass valve in the bypass passage. CONSTITUTION:A bypass passage formed in the intermediate lower part of a faucet 1, consists of a valve chamber 3 and horizontal and vertical water feed holes 4, 5 which are communicated with the valve chamber 3. When the ambient temperature of an external temperature sensing part 10 and a conduit 11 is higher than the freezing temperature, Freon 25 in a bellows 20 evaporates so that its vapor pressure acts to the bellows 20, and therefore, a valve element 8 is urged to the vertical water feed hole 5 by means of a valve opening member 19, thereby the bypass passage is closed. When the ambient temperature lowers down to the freezing temperature, the Freon 25 is liquefied so that the action to the bellows 20 is removed, and therefore, the valve element 8 is depressed by the action of a valve opening spring 18 for opening the bypass passage, thereby the faucet is prevented from being frozen. |
