PURPOSE:To enhance the durability, chargeability and residual potential characteristics by laminating an optical charge generating substance layer and a charge transferring substance layer on an electrially conductive support and by using a specified polymer as the principal component of the charge transferring substance layer. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous selenium layer as an optical charge generating substance layer is formed by vacuum deposition on an Al deposited polyester support. A charge transferring substance layer contg. a polymer represented by formulaIor II (where R is H or methyl, n is an integer of 0-3, and X is S or Se) as the principal component is then formed on the selenium layer to obtain an electrophotographic receptor. The polymer contains sulfur or selenium and has repeating units as part of the constituent units. The polymer film of the charge transferring substance having superior film forming properties and stability provides superior durability, chargeability and residual potential characteristics to the receptor. |
