Check indicator in which a rotational displacement value of a measuring element is amplified and transmitted via a toothed segment carried by a main body of the check indicator to a display device, the said toothed segment being pressed in two opposite directions by two springs, so that the toothed segment can be held in a neutral position. The two springs differ in their strength such that one spring is of stronger, and the other of weaker elasticity. The stronger spring bears against the toothed segment via fine setting means for the spring tension. Said means are mounted in a positionaly variable fashion in the main body of the check indicator, the fine setting means bearing in the direction of pressure of the spring from the side against the spring which counteracts the restoring force of the spring. The fine setting means for the spring tension are adjusted in position in order to vary the restoring force, so that the toothed segment can be adjusted.
