METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING RESISTANCE OF PIPE FORCIBLY INSERTED INTO GROUND

PURPOSE:To detect the displacement of the pipe and the frictional resistance of the outer surface of the pipe without stopping the forcible inserting work, by obtaining the elastic compression quantity of the pipe in the axial direction of the pipe from the sum of the quantities of strain at symmetrical positions of the pipe obtained by displacement gages through an elastic material. CONSTITUTION:One end of the elastic material 5 is attached to a fixing piece 7 which is fixed to the pipe 2. The other end of the elastic material 5 is attached to the displacement gage 6. Said displacement gage 6 is fixed to the pipe 2. The fixing pieces 7 and the displacement gages 6 are provided at both ends of the pipe 2. Therefore only both ends of the elastic material 5 are fixed to the pipe 2, and the expansion and contraction proportional to the expansion and contraction of the pipe 2 are detected by the displacement gage. The detected signal from the displacement gage 6 is guided to a part on the ground by a cable 8 and continuously computed by a computing and displaying meter 9 provided on the ground. The results are transformed into numeral values or differently colored points and displayed.
