PURPOSE:To attain the remote OCR transmission and the facsimile transmission in the same embodyment substantially, by transmitting recognized characters in the form of character codes and transmitting rejected characters in the form of compressed image information. CONSTITUTION:The image information obtained at a reading section 2 is sotred in a line memory 3 tentatively, and types of slips are discriminated at a slip type/sheet page number discriminating section 4. The character information is recognized at a character collating processing section 6 and converted into the code information at a code generating section 7 together with the slip kind information. As to the image information not to be recognized originally at the section 6 and the rejected characters not to be recognized, the image information is read out from the line memory 3 and data are compressed at a data compressing processor 8. The information and data are combined at a coupling processing section 9 and transmitted to a center device. |
