PURPOSE:To make it possible to monitor a slant degree accurately from a remote place, by passing optical fiber, from which a clad part is partially removed, in a hollow container which is filled up with two or more kinds of liquid state materials, with attenuation as the function of the slant degree of the container. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber (a refractive index at the clad part is n3 and a refractive index at a core part is n4), the liquidI(a refractive index is n1 and specific gravity is rho1)13, and the liquid II (a refractive index is n2 and specific gravity is rho3)14 are selected so that n1-n3<n4<n2 and rho1<rho2. The signals from light detectors 81 and 82 are analyzed by a signal analyzer 10, by using the fact that the attenuation of the light passing the optical fiber in the container is changed in correspondence with an angle alpha and an angle beta indicating the slant degree of the container 17, and the angle alpha and the angle beta are displayed. |
