PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized and low cost X-ray tube for generating an X-ray microbeam, by deforming and processing the shape of a target of the X-ray tube so that the traveling distance over which electron beam generating from a filament travels to collide with the target may change in response to the rotation of the target. CONSTITUTION:An X-ray tube whose target rotates is devised as to the shape of the target so that the traveling distance over which electron generating from a filament travels to collide with the target may change in response to the rotation of the target. An X-ray tube is composed of a rotating target 1, tungsten 2, molybdenum 3, balancing weight 4', bearings 51-4, rotary shaft 6, rotor 7, pin-hole lens 8, electron gun 9, filament 10, anode 11, electron beam 12, X-ray microbeam 13, and piece to be tested 14. As known from both figures, an X-ray generating point P on the W-target opposing to the pin-hole lens 8 moves rightward and leftward in response to the rotation of a rotating target and the X-ray microbeam is made to scan. With this X-ray tube, the X-ray microbeam can be easily made to scan without deflecting the electron beam electromagnetically. |
