PURPOSE:To reduce crosstalk, to decrease electrostatic capacity between electrodes, and to increase a response speed, by forming switching electrodes zigzag in two arrays opposite to a common electrode 15. CONSTITUTION:On one surface 14 of a transparent PLZT substrate for an array 3, the common electrode 15 extending in the axial-line direction of a photoreceptor, i.e. nearly in parallel to the lengthwise direction of a light source, and the 1st switching electrodes and the 2nd switching electrodes 17 arranged facing the common electrode 15 are formed. Prescribed fine gaps are provided between the common electrode 15, and two zigzag arrays of switching electrodes 16 and 17, and those fine gap parts of the PLZT substrate 13 serve as optical gate parts (optical switching part) 18. The 1st switching electrodes 16 and the 2nd switching electrodes 17 are connected electrically to the 1st and the 2nd driving circuits 20 and 21 through lead lines 19 respectively. |
