Stereoscopic pictorial system in which one image in a stereo image pair is coloured in a first colour, e.g. red, and the other image is coloured in two different colours, e.g. green and blue, and in which the viewer looks at the stereo image pair through anaglyph filter spectacles, one filter passing the first colour and the other passing the other two colours. If the two images are produced by two spaced colour TV cameras 11L, 11R with the colours of the images being colour components, the resultant, images superimposed, colour C.R.T. image will show objects in true full colour with coloured lateral edges and will also show stereoscopic relief when viewed through the anaglyph spectacles. Spaced black and white cameras having their outputs 'labelled' as the 'one colour' and the 'other two colours' will produce an approximately black and white stereoscopic display. The principle is also stated to be applicable to photographic cameras and film. The video signals may be recorded for later display. <IMAGE> |
