PURPOSE:To attain low cost in the range of delay in work time having no actual harm, by storing the image information of the JIS 2nd level Kanji and the user definition character in a storage device such as a memory of an electronic computer or a disc. CONSTITUTION:In writing code information of a character transmitted from the electronic computer 1 to a line into a screen buffer 4, when a code of the JIS 2nd level Kanji or the user definition code is detected, it is stored in a 2-code buffer 7 also. When the storage to a screen buffer 4 is finished, the code information of the 2nd code buffer 7 is transferred to the computer 1, the corresponding image information is received and stored in the 2nd image buffer 8. The code information of the buffer 4 is accessed to a CG memory 5 at each line and converted into the image information, then if the information is the code information of the JIS 2nd level Kanji or the user definition character, the image information is picked up from the buffer 8 and stored in an image buffer 6.
