The leading edge of the plate is orientated across the inlet end of the coal delivery pipe so that the high coal concentration portion of the primary air-pulverized coal stream discharging along the outer radius of the main fuel pipe outlet elbow is separated from the low coal concentration portion of the primary airpulverized coal stream discharging along the inner radius of the main fuel pipe outlet elbow.
