Means are provided (Fig. 7) in the path of the ribbon (20) for preferentially stretching or deforming a portion of the ribbon (20) to a degree such that its elastic limit is exceeded, causing the ribbon (20) to become crown-shaped and thereby providing for ease of re-spooling.
