<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the mechanical loss at the thrust bearing portions of a scroll compressor, by forming an annular groove in a bearing surface of the thrust bearing in the manner of dividing the bearing surface into an outer bearing surface portion and an inner bearing surface position, and making the area of the inner bearing surface portion larger than that of the outer bearing surface portion. CONSTITUTION:An annular groove 10b having a small depth and concentric with a thrust bearing 10 is formed in a bearing surface 10a of the thrust bearing 10, in the manner that the bearing surface 10a is divided into an outer bearing surface portion 10a' and an inner bearing surface portion 10a''. Here, the area of the outer bearing surface portion 10a' is made smaller than that of the inner bearing surface portion 10a''. With such an arrangement, if the position where a resultant force F is acted is located at a point B near the outer circumference or at a point C near the center, a compressor can be operated in a stable manner since an outer peripheral portion 10d of the thrust bearing 10 is located outwards of the point B and an inner peripheral portion 10e is located inwards of the point C. Therefore, it is enabled to reduce the mechanical loss at the thrust bearing portions of a scroll compressor.</p> |
