PURPOSE:To prevent the crosscurrent of suction air by a method wherein suction air is supplied through a suction path when the suction stroke of the engine, one part of suction air in a cylinder is returned into the suction path when the compression process of the engine, the quantity of the suction returned is adjusted, and the suction path is provided with a crosscurrent preventive means. CONSTITUTION:When the engine is operated under intermediate and low load, a control valve 20 is opened. An auxiliary suction valve 9 is opened for a fixed time in the compression process of the engine E, and one part of suction air is flowed back into the suction path 10 from the cylinder C through an auxiliary suction port 3 and an auxiliary suction path 19. The quantity of air passing through a venturi 13 is made less than the case of high load, and a valve 17 is closed. Suction air flows only through a first path 10a, and suction air flowed back in the compression process of the engine does not flow back to atmospheric air by a reed valve 15. |
