<p>An acoustic plaster comprises a plaster base and a binding material composed of fine hollow fibres of Ceiba pentandra or like flosses or silk-cottons which do not absorb water and which each contain an air cell. The plaster base may be gypsum, unslaked lime, or cement. Specified binding materials are flosses from the following species: Ceiba pentandra, Bombax malabaricum, Bombax buonopozense, Bombax chorisia, Eriodendron Samauma, Ochroma Lagopus, Asclepias, Calotropis gigantea, Calotropis procera, Gomphocarpus brasiliensis, Cochlospermum gossypium, Funtumia elastica. The preferred example is cieba pentandra. Water-absorbing material such as cork and shredded asbestos may optionally be included. Fillers mentioned are diatomaceous earth, pumice, clay, sand, chalk, coke breeze, smelter, or blast furnace refuse, slag wool, flax, cotton, chopped felt, chopped hair, sea sponge and rubber sponge. Example: 5-7 parts by volume plaster base, 1-3 parts by volume powdered cork, and 0,04-70 parts by volume ceiba pentandra fibres.</p> |
