PURPOSE:To prevent save mistake, by providing a means which execute compression automatically when no vacant area exists during the save processing of a member of a sectional data set. CONSTITUTION:When a member (each data set) is read out on a memory, the content is revised and when data are added, the save processing is executed in a save processing section 14. A compression start section 15 discriminates whether or not the save processing is normally finished, and if not normal, whether or not the cause to failure is due to the detection of the end of folume (EOV) is checked. If EOV detection, it means that the areas to be saved are deficient, then a DCB (data control block) discriminates whether or not the user designates the option of ''requiring compressing process''. If designated, a compression processing section 16 is started for the compression processing of the member. |
