PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which has a solid lubricant film with uniform thickness by coating a magnetic disk medium surface with a solid-state lubricant dissolved in a volatile solvent while the magnetic disk medium and solid lubricant are heated. CONSTITUTION:Spin coating is carried out while the magnetic disk medium to be coated with the solution obtained by dissolving the solid lubricant in a volatile solvent or the solution, or the both are heated. For example, after the temperature of the disk is raised to about 80 deg.C, said solution is spin-coated. Drips of the solution on the disk surface volatilize a little bit faster than usual, but even a part where a temperature drop is caused never drops in temperature to the extent that viscosity decreases to cause trouble. Consequently, the magnetic recording medium having the solid lubricant film with uniform thickness is obtained. |
