<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal device of a simple substrate structure which can be bent lightly and thinly by a polarizing property and an orienting property of plastic itself, by seal-constituting a liquid crystal of a plastic film such as a polyester film, etc. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal 1 is airtightly sealed by a polyester film 2, and on this polyester 2, transparent electrodes 3 are formed so as to be opposed to each other. Especially, as for the polyester film 2, the circumference of a liquid crystal charging space is junctioned directly. This film 2 is provided with functions for dispersing a lot of needle-like dichroic fine particles (for instance, iodine) into a thin film of polyester, elongating this thin film in one direction, arranging the dichromatic fine particles in a specified direction together with organic high polymer of polyester, providing a polarizing property, and also controlling the orientation of the liquid crystal in the elongating direction.</p> |
