<p>PURPOSE:To separate and recover oxygen from air at a low cost with small sized installations by using Zn-K-A type zeolite having a specific exchanging rate for Zn as an adsorbent for oxygen in air. CONSTITUTION:A type zeolite wherein 30-70% ion exchangeable cations are exchanged with Zn ions and 70-30% with K ions is packed as an oxygen adsorbent in oxygen adsorption towers 25, 26. On the other hand, when the tower 25 is in an adorbing stage and when the other tower 26 is in a regenerating stage, the air compressed with an air compressor 30 is cooled with a precooler 29. a dehumidified and decarbonated in adsorption tower 28 and is then cooled with a heat exchanger 27; thereafter, the air enters the tower 25, where oxygen is adsorbed on the adsorbent. In the tower 26 in the regenerating stage, the pressure in the inside of the tower is reduced to desorb the oxygen in the desorbed and the air is removed from the tower as oxygen enriched air through a valve 23. The towers 25, 26 are operated by changing over the above-mentioned operations alternately, whereby the oxygen in the air is separated and recovered at a low cost with small sized installations.</p> |
