PURPOSE:To obtain an ink jet head caused to have an most suitably constructed multi-nozzle and capable of improving recording characteristics with a small ink groove by a construction wherein an elastic member is provided in such a manner that it makes contact with ink in an external chamber to allow a pressure wave unused for jetting ink drops to be absorbed into the elastic member. CONSTITUTION:A ring-shaped elastic member (for instance, fluoro rubber) 29 is installed inside an external chamber 25 in such a manner as to make the rubber contact ink. Circular, bar and many other shapes other than the ring shape are applicable to the extent that the elastic member can be in contact with ink. In so doing, a pressure wave which will not contribute the formation of an ink drop is absorbed into the elastic member 29 and damped. Thus the jetting of ink drops is carried out conveniently, whereas the recording characteristics are by far improved. By providing the elastic members 29, 29a, 29b in the external chamber 25 of a double chamber ink jet head, excellent recording characteristics become obtainable even with small ink grooves and it is possible to provide the ink jet head with a multi-nozzle construction. |
