PURPOSE:To provide a light information recording member with a pigment thin film layer containing cyanine pigment when a laser beam irradiates on specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A pigment thin film layer containing a cyanine pigment is basically provided on a substrate. Other layers such as protective layer can be provided on or beneath the pigment thin film layer according to purposes. The pigment thin film layer which has a metalic reflection presented by the pigment in a specific light wavelength area is actually appropriate at 20%, preferable 30% in terms of the reflection factor with respect to the wavelength of laser used for writing and reading. The cyanine pigment can be used in the single form or in combination with other pigments or compounds. The sample of the cyanine pigment is given by formulaI(n represents the number of methine chains, for example 0-3), the frame of A is, for example, given by formula II and frame of B is given by formula III (R represents aklyl and X halogen). |
