PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduced picture with fidelity, by setting a picture region based on density information of a picture to be recorded, discriminating whether each picture region is a line drawing or a gradation picture, and adopting the corresponding picture signal processing method. CONSTITUTION:After a picture signal Se outputted from a photoelectric conversion element 1 is sampled at a sampling circuit 3, the signal is applied to a binarizing circuit 5. The binarizing circuit 5 takes a density value 0.4 as a threshold value to compare this picture signal and a signal of 1 is outputted, when the picture signal is larger than this threshold value and a signal of 0 is outputted when smaller. A central processing unit 6 discriminates that the position where the picture is changed from the picture to the line drawing or inversion from the entire binary output of the original outputted from the binarizing circuit 5, and stored the information into a memory 7. Thus, since the picture signal processing method corresponding to picture information of each picture region is adopted, a minute gradation recording corresponding to the picture to be recorded is obtained. |
