The thick tile is provided for quicker and simplified construction of a tile stove. The shape, size and appearance of the front side is the same as that of the conventional, commercially available tiles. The innovation in the tiles of the patent application is a full, smooth rear side, smooth, full sides, and T-shaped recesses formed in the rear side in the middle of each side length. The thickness of this tile is 5-7 cm, and thus it has the appearance of a wall brick. The tile shaped in this way is suitable for dry setting, for setting with refractory binders, or for adhesion. Screws are inserted into the T-shaped recesses from tile to tile, which screws impart additional holding and stability between the tiles. It is thus possible for tile stoves to be assembled by one person in 2-3 days. Also these tiles can be processed as a constructional kit and assembled by laymen with handicraft skills. These thick tiles present the possibility of building tile walls in a single operation and saving on fireclay treatment. Time is thus saved, and less dirt arises in the construction of a tile stove.
