An artificial Christmas tree is described, having a central, vertically arranged, preferably tubular support (2) and numerous laterally projecting artificial branches fastened to the support. Arranged on the support are a plurality of flanged tubes, which serve as spacers and branch mounts. The flanged tubes comprise a piece of tube (9), at the one end of which there is a support plate (10). Worked into the support plate are a plurality of radially arranged, upwardly open grooves (11). The grooves are covered at their region (13) in the vicinity of the longitudinal axis (12) by a ring (14), the inside diameter of which is greater than the inside diameter of the piece of tube (9). The branches are inserted into the grooves (11) and bent around upwards at an angle by their fastening ends (15) in the region between the inside of the ring (14) and the inside of the piece of tube (9). <IMAGE>
