PURPOSE:To detect the color balance and color fogs of color originals easily and to give sure setting information to a color scanner by separating the transmitted or reflected light from the color original to red, green, blue and visual light, and displaying and comparing the four scanning pattern curves obtained according to respective densities simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:The transmitted light obtained by scanning a color original is separated to light of three primary colors and a reference color, and the density frequencies occupying in the original in each density range divided to suitable segments by each light are integrated. The resultant results are displayed simultaneously on a screen as the four cumulative frequency distribution curves of the density values corresponding to the density of said colors. From the resultant cumulative distribution curves of the densities of the four colors, the states of color balances of the respective colors and color fogs in the respective positions are known from the deviation values between the reference light curve V and the curves R, G, B of the other colors in, for example, a highlight part H, a medium contrast part M and/or a shadow part S. |
