PURPOSE:To reduce a lapping time by forming a silicate film on the ground surface of a blank material for mirror bodies, and working the silicate film to a specular surface state. CONSTITUTION:An aluminum alloy is turned, cut, drilled and ground whereby a blank material for mirror bodies of a desired shape is manufactued. A silicate film is formed on the surface of the blank material. The silicate film is known as ''Alglass '' and said silicate film is deposited to 10-50mum thickness. Thereafter, the surface is finished to a general specular surface with a polishing machine for optical glass. Since the surface of said silicate film is extremely flat as compared to plated surface and alumite surface, the ideal specular surface is obtained in a short time, thus there are advantages that only the final finish lapping among ordinary rough middle finish lapping stages is required. |
