A motor shaft 15 is drivably connected with the output shaft 26 through an intermediate shaft assembly 23.
The motor shaft assembly includes a worm 21 and wormwheel 22 which is formed with cut-outs 42 each drivably receiving the extended ends 38A of some of the teeth of a pinion 36 which forms part of the intermediate shaft assembly. The pinion 36 is at all times in driving engagement with a gear 25 on the output shaft 26 and is axially movable by lever 55 to disengage the motor drive so as to allow independent manual operation of the pinion 36 and thereby the output shaft 26 by a handwheel mounted on shaft 73. Shaft 73 is drivably coupled with wormwheel 71 which is in driving engagement with the pinion 36 by means of the driving lugs 69 and 70.
