The invention relates to a carburettor with rotatable throttle valve, which lies in a bore, which is arranged transversely to the fuel and air passage, the rotatable throttle valve having a throttle passage running through it. In order to prevent the collection of fuel in and around a central fuel nozzle in the air passage, a small aperture is bored through the wall of the rotatable throttle valve up to the throttle passage, so that in the idling position a larger air aperture is produced upstream in the fuel air passage than on the downstream side. <IMAGE>
