In a motor vehicle, in particular an ambulance, an adjustable seat is arranged which can be swivelled between a first position pointing in the travel direction and a second position pointing counter to the travel direction. In the first position, the lower area of the backrest facing away from the user serves as a seating surface (20) of the seat in its second position. The upper part (16) of the backrest can be folded forwards onto the first seating surface (9). The frame of the seat is of rigid construction.
