The device comprises a drive device (1), which can be placed below a bed part to be adjusted, a support apparatus (2) which can be placed against the bed part, and an adjusting mechanism (3) having four levers (4, 4'; 5, 5') assigned in each case in pairs. The drive device (1) has two output shafts (6, 7) which are driven by an electric motor at the same speed in opposite directions. The one lever (4, 5) of the pair is mounted in each case fixedly against rotation on the drive shafts (6, 7), while the other lever (4', 5') is attached swivellably to the support apparatus (2). The device is simply set up below the bed frame and connected via a lever to the electricity supply. Extensive assembly is thus not required. <IMAGE>
