发明名称 Anti-noise hood for typewriters and automatic printing or recording units
摘要 Automatic printing (e.g. teleprinter-capable) typewriters cannot overcome the nuisance of airborne sound. Known remedial measures are ear protectors, underlays, housings, adjustable walls or wall coatings. Novel: pivotable hoods all round at a distance from the printing unit, that is to say independent of individual, environment and machine. The hood traps the noise as a lampshade does light. It is lowered by hand over the noise source; especially during print-out, but possibly also during the inputting of texts; in this case the keyboard is left free, being provided with a viewing glass and an aperture for the emergence of paper. The hood is suspended above the machine or rests on it. It can be used for any machine. It is attached so as to be removable and vertically adjustable; by means of a pull-down device suspended from the ceiling or from a type of whip-like lamp pedestal which is attached to the surface of the table; it is better if the hood folds by means of hinges which are connected to the table surface by means of screw clamps. The drawing shows a recent model with viewing window and aperture for the emergence of paper which can be placed on the machine while leaving the keyboard free. <IMAGE>
