Motor-driven clamshell grab

Motor-driven clamshell grab for bulk material, with lifting cylinders (5) arranged between two cross pieces (2, 4) and several rods (3) transmitting the cylinder forces to the grab shells (1), and a suspension (8) which is fastened to the bottom cross piece (2). Due to the particular fastening point of the suspension (8), a portion of the lifting-mechanism power of the lifting gear is added to the installed motor power for closing the grab when lifting operations become necessary during the grab-closing operation. This increase in closing force produces larger filling capacities in the grab and absolute safety against unintentional opening of the two grab shells (1). <IMAGE>
