In the case of cutlery, in particular disposable plastic cutlery, the items of which are moulded, preferably injection-moulded, from plastic with the handle and tool part integrally in each case and have a reinforcing profile over the length of the handle, a considerable improvement in the stability of the handle is to be achieved both in the principle direction of bending stress and transversely to the principal direction of bending stress. At the same time, secure gripping and holding as well as a comfortable position of the handle in the hand are to be improved. For this purpose, the cutlery items are to be constructed over the length of their handle with formation of an essentially S-shaped profile with a central wall strip and two outer wall strips. In this case, at least one of these wall strips is arranged essentially in a plane parallel to the principal direction of bending stress of the handle. In the case of the spoon and fork, the central wall strip is preferably arranged in a plane parallel to the principal direction of bending stress of the handle and, in the case of the knife, the central wall strip is preferably arranged in a plane perpendicular to the principal direction of bending stress of the handle while the outer wall strips then lie in the plane parallel to the principal direction of bending stress. However, a different selection of the wall strips lying in a plane parallel to the principle direction of bending stress of the handle is also conceivable and may be preferable in specific applications.
