PURPOSE:To improve the smoothness of the surfaces of molded products without lowering the strength, etc., by blending a fiber-reinforced unsaturated polyester resin with a styrene/butadiene block copolymer and a vinyl acetate resin as shrinkage controlling agents in combination. CONSTITUTION:An ethylenically unsaturated monomer (A) (e.g., styrene) is mixed with an unsaturated polyester (B), styrene/butadiene block copolymer (C), a curing agent (D), a filler (E), a parting agent (F), a reinforcing fiber (G) and a vinyl acetate resin (H) in a weight ratio of (C+H) to B of 0.25-0.6 and C to H of 1.5-8 to obtain the desired fiber-reinforced unsaturated resin comps. Molded products obtd. from the compsn. have excellent mechanical characteristics and a good smooth appearance and are suitable for use as outer plates for automobile. |
