The device comprises a plurality of reversible dynamo-electric machines (1) each of which is rotatably coupled with one of the wheels of the vehicle. The dynamo-electric machines are connected to electrical energy storage means (3) through a control circuit (4 to 9) controlled by sensor means (6, 7) associated with the brake pedal (F) and the accelerator pedal (G) of the vehicle. During braking the dynamo-electric machines (1) operate as generators supplying the storage means (3); during acceleration the dynamo-electric machines (1) operate as motors supplied by the storage means (3) and cooperating with the internal combustion engine of the vehicle. |
