<p>PURPOSE:To provide an index device adapted to adsorb a steel plate or the like by vacuum force and rotate same at a predetermined angle for an index operation, which can conduct an indexing operation for steel plates of smaller size by dividing a vacuum suction path into plural parts and disposing opening and closing valves on respective parts. CONSTITUTION:An index device 60 includes a rotary disc plate 72 fitted to a fixed shaft 70 and driven by a motor 78 and vacuum suction pads 74 arranged and supported in a circle on the rotary disc plate 72 where vacuum suction force is generated by a vacuum pump 76. In this case, a suction path for connecting the vacuum suction pads 74 to the vacuum pump 76 is divided into plural branch paths 80, 82, 84 which are mounted on the fixed shaft 70. The branch paths 80, 82, 84 are respectively connected through pipes 86, 88, 90 to the vacuum pump 76, respective pipes being provided with opening and closing valves 94, 96, 98, whereby in case of indexing a large-sized steel plate 116, all the opening and closing valves 94, 96, 98 are opened, and in case of indexing a small-sized steel plate, the opening and closing valves 94, 96, 98 are opened or closed as required so as to secure a vacuum suction.</p> |
