PURPOSE:To manufacture a composite stranded wire without the breakdown of a metallic pipe body such as a crush by providing a lubricant layer around the metallic pipe body which contains a communication wire and then stranding metallic wires around said metallic pipe. CONSTITUTION:A metallic tape 1' such as an aluminum tape while supplied from a tape supply 8 to a forming machine 9 is formed in a pipe covering the communication wire 2 such as an optical fiber core supplied from a communication wire supply 10, and the seam of tue metallic tape 1' is welded by a welding machine 11 to obtain the metallic pipe body 1. Through a lubricant material coating device 12, the lubricant layer 7 made of grease is applied to the surface of the metallic pipe body 1 to obtain the metallic pipe 6 containing the communication wire, which is wound around a drum 13. Then, while the communication-wire containing metallic pipe 6 is supplied from a supply bobbin 13, plural metallic wires 4 are supplied from a flyer (not shown in a figure) and run in a stranding opening 21 after a comber board 20 to obtain the composite stranded wire. |
