摘要 PURPOSE:To absorb a specific component in a gas at a high absorbing ratio even if an absorbing liquid with low absorbing capacity is used, by a method wherein an absorbing process is divided into two processes and the absorbing liquid with high absorbing capacity sent from a diffusion tower is sent to the preceding stage absorbing process through the latter absorbing process. CONSTITUTION:For example, a waste gas 5 containing a CO gas such as a shaft furnace gas is introduced into a preceding absorbing tower 1A and countercurrently contacted with an absorbing liquid sent from the liquid sump 16B of a succeeding absorbing tower 1B and an absorbing liquid recirculated from the liquid sump 16A of the preceding absorbing tower 1A to selectively absorb and remove the CO gas contained therein. The treated gas from which the greater part of the CO gas is removed is introduced into the succeeding absorbing tower 1B through a duct 19 and countercurrently contacted with the fresh absorbing liquid from a diffusion tower 2 to perfectly absorb and remove the CO gas in the treated gas. On the other hand, the part of the absorbing liquid of the liquid sump 16A is sent to the diffusion tower 2 to diffuse the absorbed CO gas by heating the same by a steam coil 13 while the high concn. CO gas 12 is recovered and the absorbing liquid after treatment is sent to the succeeding absorbing tower 1B.
