PURPOSE:To coat the paint uniformly on the edge surfaces of lenses by automating the operations of a mechanism for conveying lenses, a mechanism for supplying and positioning lenses and a mechanism for painting lenses. CONSTITUTION:A lens V to be coated with paint on the edge surface thereof is positioned by moving a V block upward; thereafter, the V block is moved downward and the lens is conveted in the direction of a painting roll R1. When the lens L contacts with the 1st painting roll R1, a timer starts operating and the roll rotates, by which the edge surface part of the lens is painted. In succession, the 2nd timer starts operating and when a vacuum sucking chuck sucking the lens falls forward and contacts with the 2nd patinting roll R2, the end surface of the lens is painted. Thereafter, the vacuum sucking chuck rises, and the lens returns to the home position, where the lens is removed from the V block by the vacuum sucking jigs. The painting is accomplished continuously by repeating a series of the above-mentioned operations. |
